Nothing says summer like a refreshing iced tea recipe. Although summer is slowly winding down, the warm weather here in Chicago has stayed pretty consistent the last few weeks. As ready as I am to have this baby already, I’m also not fully ready to part ways with summer just yet!
With that being said, I craved a refreshing summer drink that was both light and fruity. As I stopped at my local grocery store, I picked up a gallon of the Tradewinds Unsweetened Iced Tea.
I don’t always have the luxury of time available to brew fresh tea so using ready-made iced tea is the right choice for me for weeknights. For this particular recipe, all you need to do is infuse it with strawberry and basil. They add such a wondrous flavor to the tea that you don’t even need to add any sweetener. However, I decided to add honey anyway because, you know, the sweeter the better.
I then topped it off with some sparkling water. I chose lime because it added an ultra refreshing element to the already perfect drink.
What you’ll need:
- Tradwinds Iced Tea
- Lime Sparkling water
- Fresh Basil
- Fresh Strawberries
- Honey or sweetener of your choice
Now I recommend allowing at least 30 minutes for the basil and strawberry to infuse the iced tea. However I found that 2 hours in the refrigerator gives it maximum flavor. I understand how valuable time is so if you can only wait the half hour, no worries. It tastes just as amazing!
Tradewinds has a wide variety of flavors and both sweetened and unsweetened options. I personally like my iced tea unsweetened and like to add in my own fruits and natural sweetener as needed.
