For those that have never heard of him, Yagihashi has previously been featured on various TV series cooking shows such as, Top Chef, Iron Chef America and more recently, The Chef Whisperer.
Yagihashi grew up in Mito, Japan where he was exposed to a wide variety of Japanese dishes as his family regularly traveled to different restaurants. It was around this time he became intrigued with cooking and began working at a local restaurant while he finished up his degree in Interior Design.
Upon graduation, Yagihashi discovered his true passion was in cooking and helped assist the restaurant owner where he worked with a new restaurant he was opening in the States. After moving to Chicago, Yagihashi eventually opened the restaurant known today as Takashi in 2007.
His namesake restaurant earned many awards such as “Best Known Restaurant” in 2008 and a was recognized by Zagat that gave his restaurant the highest rating in Chicago in 2010. Since then, Yagihashi has continued to be successful in his culinary career and his success has proven his ability to add a fun and tasty spin on Asian inspired cuisine!
