doTerra Essential Oils | Product Review

My honest and unbiased review – doTerra Essential Oils

If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am absolutely obsessed with anything that is holistic and/or contains healing properties. As of lately, I have been using a variety of essential oils to help me relax, recharge, and re-balance. There are many different types of oils available each one having It’s own respective properties and benefits which can be both physical and emotional. I select my oils based on how I feel and what my ailments are.

There are many ways to use essential oils. I personally keep a diffuser close by adding my favorite oils, and inhaling all of the wonderful scents. Besides being extremely soothing, This also helps to neutralize odors in the room by releasing a light, pleasant aroma. Oils can also be applied to the skin topically to help with a variety of skin conditions such as bug bites, scratches, bruises, and general irritations. What I didn’t know is that many brands of essential oils can also be ingested helping with a variety of conditions such as upset stomach, common cold, and muscle pain.

I am always on the search for good-quality essential oils that I can both diffuse and apply on my skin. Having tried many brands, I am familiar with what qualities to look for now when selecting my oils. I recently received the doTerra Introductory Kit along with 2 bonus oil blends from Sarah Handley at

The introductory kit contains my most favorite oils, Lavender, Lemon, and peppermint.

I have tried many different brands of Lavender oils and I must say, this brand by far exceed my expectations. The lavender smell was not too strong yet not to subtle. To me, its the perfect lavender scent.

The lemon scent was amazing. I added 2 drops to my lemon infused water to intensify the flavor and was very pleased with the taste. The scent is very true to life and smells identical to a fresh cut lemon. In addition to adding this to my water, I also took it with me to work and added it to my diffuser. Everyone in the office enjoyed the citrus fragrance as it was light and helped to neutralize the odors in the office from our cafeteria.

The peppermint scent was reminiscent of a typical candy cane. I enjoyed the fragrance very much and felt that it relaxed me. I enjoy putting a few drops on my temples to help relieve headaches and nausea.

Sarah was kind enough to also include an empty roller for me to mix the oils together which I did. The blended combination along with a bit fractionated coconut oil, helped to clear up my airways during my head cold this week. I simply applied the mixture to my chest and went to sleep.

Finally, there were 2 extras I received from Sarah that she had already blended for me.

Healthy Kiddo, is a blend of doTerra OnGuard, Melaleuca, Lemon, and fractionated coconut oil. Sarah advised to roll this onto the bottoms of the feet to help naturally support a healthy immune system. I have been using this on the bottom of both my feet, and my son’s feet. I really enjoy the fragrance and plan to use it daily before going to bed.

Ovia Blend, is  a blend of doTerra lavender, melaleuca, and fractionated coconut oil. It’s intended to be applied topically on the skin on areas of concern. I have been using this blend for any blemishes on my face and have noticed that it helps to bring down the redness and swelling associated with acne.

Overall, I was very happy with this kit and would highly recommend it to anyone especially those who are just getting started on the essential oils journey.
