Simple Green Juice recipe that is great for beginners!

Simple Green juice recipe’s are my favorite types! I am often overwhelmed by the different types of green juice recipes that are out there. I remember when I first began making green juice back in 2011, I experimented with different ingredients but always found that I stuck with same 5 ingredients, making only slight modifications each time.

I wanted to share my most favorite green juice recipe ever. It is simple yet extremely beneficial and its ingredients contain some very essential vitamins and minerals. For this recipe, I’ve used Collard Greens, Dinosaur Kale, Celery, one lemon, and one apple. I try to buy organic whenever possible. Read below for the health benefits of these wonderfully powerful ingredients!

Collard Greens are rich in vitamins A, B, C, and K  and are packed with calcium magnesium and folate. Collards are among the most nutritious leafy green veggies and can help ward off a multitude of illnesses such as cancer, dementia, heart disease, and cholesterol. In addition, collards can help improve vision thanks to their high level of carotenoids and can help strengthen the immune system as well.

Kale has been recognized over and over for its wonderful health benefits. Not to mention, this beautifully versatile leafy green is also high in fiber and has zero fat. Kale contains vitamins A and C and is extremely high in iron which helps in the formation of hemoglobin and enzymes that in turn transport oxygen to different parts of the body. Like Collards, Kale is high in calcium and has anti-inflammatory benefits making it ideal for overall immune system health.

Celery may not be everyone’s favorite food, but its health benefits are undeniably impressive. Celery is an excellent source of enzymes and antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals such as Vitamins B6, C, and K. In addition, it contains potassium and folate, and can improve blood pressure and prevent heart disease. What’s more, its low calorie content make it ideal for weight loss by regulating lipid metabolism while providing vital nutrients.

Apples are wonderful at relieving a multitude of illnesses such as liver disorders, constipation, diabetes, and even heart disease and cancer. Apples are high in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K and their impressive fiber content helps to supply 20% of our daily need which can help aid digestion and reduce heart disease and cancer. An added benefit is improved dental and skin care as well. An apple a day, definitely does keep the doctor away!

Lemons are a wonderful addition to any juice recipe and can help preserve the juice for much longer. they are extremely high in vitamin C making them the ultimate immune system defender. The high level of vitamin C helps to increase iron absorption virtually eliminating anemia.What’s more, they contain vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium.

What you’ll need:

  • Juicer. I use  This one
  • 3-5 bunches of dinosaur OR curly kale
  • 3 bunches of collard greens
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 1 apple, seeded
  • 1 lemon unpeeled

depending on the type of juicer you are using, you may need to cut everything small in order to fit through the chute:


Discard the extracted pulp


And voila! I like to call it the “Green Machine”.
